I was going to write an article about the Aurora Theatre massacre that occurred today, during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises, but it looks like someone beat me to it. It’s a shame that such a great movie about the power of human perseverance and hope will be forever tainted by the senseless massacre of a true madman. Even more tragic is the death of Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sportswriter who, just a few months ago, survived the Eaton Centre shooting spree in Toronto. Now that I’ve said my piece, please keep those grieving families in your thoughts and prayers. Be sure to read the Wired article mentioned in the title, and I highly recommend reading Jessica’s blog post about her experience surviving the Eaton Centre shooting, and reflect on it.
In her own words, “I say all the time that every moment we have to live our life is a blessing. So often I have found myself taking it for granted. Every hug from a family member. Every laugh we share with friends. Even the times of solitude are all blessings. Every second of every day is a gift. After Saturday evening, I know I truly understand how blessed I am for each second I am given.”
that is just too sad
